چکیده

RMIX is a dynamic, heterogeneous, reconfigurable communication framework that allows software components to communicate using various RMI/RPC protocols, such as ONC RPC, Java RMI and SOAP, by facilitating dynamically loadable provider plug-ins to supply different protocol stacks. With this paper, we present a native (C-based), flexible, adaptable, multi-protocol RMI/RPC communication framework that complements the Java-based RMIX variant previously developed by our partner team at Emory University. Our approach offers the same multi-protocol RMI/RPC services and advanced invocation semantics via a C-based interface that does not require an object-oriented programming language. This paper provides a detailed description of our RMIX framework architecture and some of its features. It describes the general use case of the RMIX framework and its integration into the Harness metacomputing environment in the form of a plug-in.

Heterogeneous Access to Service-Based Distributed Computing: The RMIX Approach

Service-based distributed computing as a mode of resource sharing is receiving increased attention, motivated both by enterprise applications and by standardization efforts in the grid community. In this context, significant effort is being devoted to service descriptions and related issues, primarily via Web Services and associated technologies. However, it is also critical to enable access to...

RMIX: A Multiprotocol RMI Framework for Java

With the increasing adoption of Java for parallel and distributed computing, there is a strong motivation for enhancing the expressive elegance of the RMI paradigm with flexible and adaptable communication substrates. Java RMI is an especially powerful and semantically comprehensive framework for distributed Java applications – but the default Java RMI implementation is bound to a concrete wire...

Peer-to-Peer computing with H2O and JXTA

H2O is Java-based, component-oriented, lightweight resource sharing platform for metacomputing. It allows deployment of services into container not only by container owners, but by any authorized clients or third parties. As a communication mechanism, H2O uses RMIX that is interoperable and extensible communication library. JXTA technology is a set of open protocols that allows any connected de...

Digitally Excited Reconfigurable Linear Antenna Array Using Swarm Optimization Algorithms

This paper describes the synthesis of digitally excited pencil/flat top dual beams simultaneously in a linear antenna array constructed of isotropic elements. The objective is to generate a pencil/flat top beam pair using the excitations generated by the evolutionary algorithms. Both the beams share common variable discrete amplitude excitations and differ in variable discrete phase excitations...

A System for Distributed Computing Based on H2O and JXTA

The main goal of this work is to build a uniform global computational network using H2O distributed computing framework and JXTA P2P technology. This computational network will give users new possibilities in building and utilizing of distributed computing systems, namely H2O kernels behind firewalls will be accessible and group management in JXTA will bring us possibility of creating virtual g...
